Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)

Seamless Power Transfer Between Utility and Generator

Saudi Arabia's trusted ATS panel manufacturer since 1973. Custom-engineered automatic transfer switches and generator transfer switches built in-house to IEC 60947-6-1 and SASO standards, with fast transfer times, intelligent monitoring, and complete testing documentation.

What is an ATS panel?

An Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), also called an automatic changeover switch or generator transfer switch, is a critical power management device in backup power systems that automatically transfers electrical loads between utility power and a standby generator, ensuring uninterrupted operation during grid outages. When the ATS panel detects utility failure through continuous voltage and frequency monitoring, it immediately starts the backup generator and seamlessly transfers the load once stable power is confirmed.

Types of Automatic Transfer Switch Panels

By Transfer Speed:

  • Fast Transfer ATS : <0.5 seconds (prevents ride-through capacitor discharge in UPS systems, computer power supplies, and sensitive electronics; critical for data centers)
  • Standard Transfer ATS : 5-10 seconds (suitable for lighting, HVAC, and motor loads with mechanical inertia)
  • Delayed Transfer ATS : Programmable delay (accommodates motor starting sequences in industrial applications)

By Switching Mechanism:

  • Contactor-Type ATS : Heavy-duty contactors for load switching (100A-1600A range)
  • Circuit Breaker-Type ATS : Motorized circuit breakers with overcurrent protection (630A-4000A range)

By Transition Type:

  • Open Transition : Brief interruption during transfer, prevents backfeeding

Closed Transition : Seamless transfer with momentary parallel operation for sensitive loads
